wargame weekend: operation neptune 2022

The code-name for this year's event was "Operation Neptune" and focused on a World War II themed scenario on the coast of Normandy. Our first time running a paintball event using the "Wargame Oklahoma" format, this was one of the most fun and memorable events we've had the pleasure of organizing. The players, staff, weather, and shenanigans came together for an awesome weekend of paintball in the woods.

This page will be where you can find the official staff write-up for Wargame Weekend 2022 as well as media, links, and points breakdowns. While real war isn't a game, we try remind our players that paintball is and win or lose true enjoyment comes from the friends and stories we come home with. Though there are usually point victors, we like to provide the players more than just a points total to go home with.

SHENANIGANS POINTS REPORT

Complete more shenanigans than the enemy. Engaging in shenanigans and encouraging an atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship will earn your side shenanigan points. Winning the shenanigans point category gives your side a point bonus and could be the thing that breaks a stalemate!

Please note, that this is not an exhaustive list of all shenanigans conducted over the weekend. Because of the nature of shenanigans, the best way to ensure your epic or stupid moment is counted is to catch it on video and share it on Social Media!

OPERATION RANGER RAVE

Unfortunately, the burn ban meant that we couldn't light up the field using road flares. Luckily the Rangers from Blue Company heard there was a rave and came in decked in phallic shaped glow-sticks. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO!

Who doesn't love a good hostage exchange? The Blues took it upon themselves to find a "willing" red participant to shoot a piece of propaganda. (Sorry, the video is "Classified")

En-route to other objectives, players from both sides stopped to have a little dance party.

WATER IS LIFE

Alan "Picasso" Davidson from the Brad Pitts and OSS graciously provided 120+ gallons of fresh water to both deadzones because of his love for the game.

Players from both sides were seen holding hands and skipping around the battlefield singing "Why can't we be friends".
